History of the CompanyContact Us

In 1975, Robert Faucher began his apprenticeship with a major New England pipe organ company and has been involved in the building and installation of over 100 instruments - mechanical as well as electro-pneumatic and electric-actioned. In 1979, he was awarded the title of Journeyman Organbuilder by the American Institute of Organbuilders . In 1987, he moved back to Maine and established his own company.

Meshing an age-old craft with the latest technology, their drafting department utilizes Computer Assisted Design and Drafting - commonly called CADD. Custom proprietary software designed by the firm also automatically calculates all aspects of windchest design and layout, thereby saving considerable costs in engineering.

In addition to straight pipe organs, the company has also built many successful combination instruments. These are stand-alone pipe organs which provide all the core foundation stops. Additional high-quality digital voices are added to round out a versatile and generous stop specification, providing even more variations of tonal color. Although voiced to mesh seamlessly with the pipe stops, they are not necessary for service playing, since the pipe stops provide those core sounds. All new instruments have MIDI compatibility for unlimited future expansion.

Faucher Organ Company's tonal philosophy is somewhat eclectic but benefits strongly from following the disciplines of the unfailing North-German principles. This style is not only best for congregational singing but also allows authentic performance of many types of musical literature. The company has a full-time service department staffed with factory trained technicians and services the greater Northeast.

Directing the woodshop's operations is Lawrence Ouellette, primary Wood Craftsman and Vice-President. Ronald Goulet, a registered Professional Engineer, allows the impossible jobs and situations to become exciting realities. David Rowe, specializing in solid-state and acoustical matters, assists in installations and service. Robert Faucher, President and Artistic Director, oversees production, voicing and tonal finishing. Kevin Lindsay is the company's Northeast Representative and assists in installations.
